Terms of service

Last updated 24 September 2026

These are the terms for using Shuttle HQ. Using the site means accepting them. They are written to be read, not to be impressive.

What the service is

Shuttle HQ lets anyone set up a badminton tournament, take entries, score matches and publish results. It is free, and it is run by an individual as a side project rather than by a company.

Accounts and links

Organising a tournament needs an account. Everyone on a tournament's organiser list has the same rights over it, and organisers add each other by emailing an invitation from inside the tournament. Two links cover the people who need no account:

  • the scorer link lets whoever holds it score any match in that tournament;
  • the invite link is meant to be advertised, and lets people enter.

Treat the scorer link as a password. Anyone you send it to can use it, and we cannot tell an intended recipient from an unintended one. If it gets out, an organiser can issue a new one.

If you create an account, keep your password to yourself and give an email address you actually control. You are responsible for what is done through your account.

What you put in

You keep whatever rights you have in the names, images and text you enter. You give us permission to store and display it for the purpose of running and showing the tournament.

Only enter other people’s details if you are entitled to. Only upload an image you are allowed to use. Do not use the service to harass anyone, to break the law, or to publish anything you have no right to publish. We may remove content or close a tournament that does.

What is public

Once a draw is published, player names, fixtures, scores and results are visible to anyone with the link, and live tournaments are listed publicly. Contact details submitted with an entry are not; they go only to that tournament’s organiser. The privacy policy covers this in full.

No promises about availability

The service is provided as it is, with no warranty. It may be unavailable, it may lose data, and features may change or disappear. Do not rely on it as the only record of anything that matters to you: if a result is important, keep your own copy.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from using the service, including a tournament that could not be run or a result that was lost. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Ending it

You can stop using the service whenever you like, and ask us to delete your account and tournaments. We may suspend access that is being used to break these terms.
